True beauty...

Chanel, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Prada, Christian Louboutin, Brazilian ‘huuuuur’, French manicure, La Mer skincare, make-up, Beyonce kind of booty and of course the sexy pout!  Long lush healthy hair and flawless skin, that is what most young women want and believe will make them appear more ‘beautiful’ in the eyes of the opposite sex. Don’t get me wrong loving and taking care of the way you look is great but in that process we tend to forget our inner beings. The funny thing is when I asked some of my good male friends how they would describe true beauty in a woman, none of the former were mentioned; and these are the kind of men that we ‘fix’ ourselves for i.e. gentleman, successful, good looking, yes they are hot! Lol! The kind your friends envy you for, the kind your aunts call ‘umkhwenyana’ after the first date *rolls eyes* and the kind your brothers don’t have jack to tease you about....that kind of manJ.

It’s amusing how cleavage, tiny waist, toned thighs, hips and thick lips never, not even once  came up in conversation, you’d swear these men were talking about an imageless figure!  To sum all my conversations up I will quote some of the things that stood out for me; “Intelligence, humility and assertiveness...”, “Her heart, values, character and personality...”, “Respect of self, how she carries and articulates herself, how she projects her beauty, her mannerism...” (He blatantly said its definitely not the way she looks), “Confidence, her effortless nature and essence as a unique individual, nothing copied or rehearsed...”, one said “ A huge accommodative heart kodwa aphinde akwazi ukuba uMkabayi (from Isibaya) so she won’t be taken advantage of...” ha ha! So hunnie, nobody wants a yes woman, I’m not saying now become stubborn and hot headed, no, but you were blessed with a mind  and you have values, beliefs and opinions of your own as an individual – use them, they add to the essence of you as an individual and a beautiful unique woman you aspire to be.

After digesting all these conversations I came to the conclusion that spending so much time in salons, in front of the mirror, at the gym and spending ridiculous amounts of money on various things that we think or hope will help you “catch” that man...it’s all in vain really. Now don’t get me wrong, if you personally know me then you’ll know that I’m 110% for good health, wellness and all things beautiful; but only if it’s for yourself, maybe it makes you feel more beautiful, more confident or makes you feel like you can conquer the world! Yes! I’m with you there hun! If it’s to catch some man’s attention then...well...I’ll meet you at the next stopJ. This is my heart – true external beauty radiates from what’s inside of you, nurture that and true happiness, contentment and that intense joy are inevitable!

Beauty of character outlasts beauty of fashion...

Stay true!

This is long over due! This is the first of many to come J Over the past couple of years I’ve been receiving a lot of questions on different things that I have interest in which are beauty, health, lifestyle, fashion, etiquette and of course love!
On this blog I will basically be sharing what I have learnt over the years, what I’m still learning, what inspires me and whatever else that might be on my mind on these different interests, hopefully answering some of the questions and I pray that someday my own children will read this and learn something...
I might not post as often as I’d like because I’m not a professional blogger and a girl has got to make a living ;) but you can get me on Facebook: Sindisiwe Uzuri or Twitter: @sindisiweuzuri.
