All Men Are Dogs!

“He used me, all he wanted was just sex. Men are such dogs! The whole lot of them!” Most women if not all have said the exact words at least once in their lifetime. I personally used to say “All men are dogs but on different levels – some are bull dogs and some are chiwawa’s”. I take it back, men are just men just as much as us women are just women.  What time has taught me is that men will always want to get however much they can get from a woman/girl, most of the time it’s not forced but we give it willingly except in some cases where it is by force.

A man will come up to you and say “Hey, I like you, enjoy your company, find you attractive…but I’m currently with someone and I’m just not feeling her anymore, going through a rough patch…or – I’m married, very unhappy and planning to leave my wife…” We do our calculations (That’s another topic on its own) and what do we see? Jackpot! Calm down Hyena! The fact that that man has let you know that there is someone else or an unfinished chapter there automatically makes you a side chick, nyatsi, ikhwapha, umaNtuli, iJuvie etc. (I guess you didn’t add or multiply that in your calculations) – in this case he will do with you what any man does to a side chick and loyal and non-judgmental friends are always there to wipe those tears at the end of it all.

If your stallion is serious and wants you around, he’ll make sure that his stable is spick and span just waiting for you to accept his invitation and not shuffle you around the different rooms while sweeping his dirt hun – and yes I said “accept his invitation” don’t invite yourself lest you risk being shuffled because he just wasn’t prepared for a guest. As much as we’d love to be invited into clean stables, let’s make sure that our’s are on point and even sterilized first.

Love is a beautiful thing, let’s enjoy it ngaphandle kokuhlomeka.

Yours in Uzuri,

Moi.

Get Her A Chloe' Bag

This past weekend some girls and I went on a road trip and oh what fun we had! As you know when you put women together the topic of............................................................Relationships! always comes up J  Well, this time was no different. This other friend of mine was talking about how this guy she was seeing went MIA and recently appeared declaring his undying love for her and how much he realised during his absence that he needs her (we have all heard that one before *rolls eyes*) now they are ‘together’ again and they are happy! She then says she would not have even seen him but because he had a Chloe’ bag with him he got the opportunity and got to spend the night ;).

This got me thinking what my ‘Chloe’ bag’ is, I asked the other ladies what theirs is. From a friend of mine who is married said that hers is “knowing that her husband is always by her side and that he’ll always have her back that no matter how bad things are...”. This other lady said if her man were to come up to her, pick her up, tickle her and be playful that alone would break the ice (looking at her most men would be scared to even approach her, she just has one of those f*#! Off faces on all the time) another one said it would have to be a Brazilian weave and nothing else she said flicking her hair.

Ladies: Your Chloe’ bag says a lot about the kind of woman you are, know your worth.

Gentle brothers: When it comes to dealing with women, sometimes if not most of the time that Chloe’ bag is you, the man that you are and not what you can buy for us. NB: Please note that this might not apply to girls.

Without contradicting myself, gifts are always welcome! The more on a random date it is given the more appreciated it is. Just don’t use them to get out of situations – man up.

Yours in Uzuri,

Moi.

The Best Things In Life Are Free...

Life, love, laughter, a smile, kisses, sunrises and sunsets, the air we breathe, the musical sounds that birds make, the sound of the waves in the ocean and my favourite, bear hugs J cost absolutely nothing!  The older I get and the more people (much older) I talk to who have lived long enough to have stories to tell the more I realise that the simpler you live your life the more in tune you will be with things that matter and the more you will get out of life.

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine asked me what is it that I want out of life and my response was simple “I want to be happy”, funny how I didn’t have to think about that; he laughed and said I must let him know once I know what I want.  To some this might seem like a simple minded or even stupid response but I had just informed him of the ultimate of what I want.  We do the things we do, study, work, open businesses, get married, have babies, go on holiday, work out, go out partying, go shopping or whatever it is that you do because we think that will give you happiness. For instance, you study because you want to get a good job, you open your own business because you want to make loads of money and think that the financial freedom you will have will make you happy, get married because sharing your life with your partner will make you happy, work out because you will get that natural high from the endorphins, go shopping because of that jovial mood you are in when shopping etc. At the tip of the hierarchy of all these things we do is the crown called ‘Happiness’. It’s unfortunate that in the society we live in today we not only do these things because it makes us happy but because it makes others happy and/or it makes us seem happier in the eyes of others so basically we do things for others - live our lives for others.

In pursuit of happiness we have found ourselves so busy ‘living it up’ that we often miss opportunities to enjoy the free gifts of life that will bring us closer to the crown we are chasing after so much. Don’t get me wrong I’m all for the things mentioned above but let us not be caught in the ‘Rat Race’ as Robert Kiyosaki calls it, don’t get so busy that you don’t even have the time to enjoy what you’ve worked or is working so hard for. Pause once in a while, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, open and look around you using the eyes of your inner child, yes, you know what I’m talking about, that exactly! Even if it’s just for a few minutes, that moment will make a huge difference to your day, practice this often and see if you don’t feel a step closer to the crown. When you are old and weary it’s not the Loubi’s, the Lambo and the fine Lamb that make your soul smile but the moments you were stepping closer to the crown and that doesn’t cost an arm and a Leg.

Let’s keep it simple and enjoy being J

Love love!
