Take care of you...#2

We lead such busy lifestyles that we pay little or no attention to our body's health and wellbeing. The regular hair, nails, manicure and pedicure appointment is surely not enough to keep you going. We encourage you to treat your body as a whole and what better way than by adding Swedish Massage and Reflexology to your treatment routine? Below are brief descriptions of these treatments so that we understand what they are and their benefits.

Swedish Massage:
The general manipulation of muscles, skin and joints by applying pressure with the palms of hands, thumbs and fingers.

One can choose from the following massages depending on the area to be treated:
Shoulder, Neck and Back Massage
Head, Neck and Shoulder Massage
Full Body Massage
Foot Massage
Hand Massage

Benefits:
•Improves blood circulation and mobility of the muscles and joints.
•Brings about relaxation and or rejuvenation with reduced muscle aches, tension and stiffness.
•Helps reduce stress and improves overall mood

Massage can be done as often as needed with you having control as to how much pressure you need and where depending on the type of massage and its focus areas.

Reflexology:

Using the hand, thumb and fingers to apply pressure on the feet where there are reflex areas which correspond to glands, organs and parts of the body.
(This is not a massage)

We do not diagnose, prescribe nor treat any specific conditions. However, reflexology treatment provides the following
benefits:

•A kickstart in detoxing the body
•Improves nerve and blood supply
•Helps improve organ functioning and normalising of body's systems
•Induces feeling of calm and relaxation
•Relieves stress and tension

Reflexology programme can be done once a week (minimum) for as long as needed. This helps us to keep a record of your body changes and progress throughout.

I’m due for a massage myself…As beg Zama for one J

I'd like to book for a manicure...

This article is long over due. This is a brief explanation of some treatments that most of us get confused.

Manicure

Filing on the natural nail, pushing and softening of cuticles, exfoliation, massage, filling, buffing and shining or nail paint on hands. This treatment is done by both men and women.

Benefits: Clean and well-shaped nails, treating of cuticles which is vital for keeping your nails healthy and strong. The exfoliation removes dead skin cells and improves circulation and stimulates blood flow. It is very relaxing.

Pedicure

Filing on the natural nail, pushing and softening of cuticles, filing and exfoliation, massage, buffing and shining or nail paint on feet. This treatment is done by both men and women.

Benefits: The benefits of a pedicure are similar to manicures but just specifically designed for feet. The exfoliation and massage relieves aching feet and muscles and stimulates blood circulation. The oils and moisturizing elements keep feet well-hydrated and prevent dry cracked heels.

Paraffin Treatment

Dipping of hand or feet in warm oil based wax to soften rough skin. Soothes and softens dry, chapped, rough and scaly skin. This treatment is done by both men and women.

Benefits: Provides pain relief to sore joints and muscles. Soothes chronic joint pain and relaxes stiff muscles. Improves blood flow to the treated area.

Nail Enhancements

The use of different systems to give one longer, normal looking or stronger nails using either Acrylic or Gel systems. Gelish is simply gel that applies like nail polish. There are a whole of applications when it comes to this; a professional nail technician will be able to explain the difference and assist you in choosing the best one for you depending of the results you are after and taking into consideration the condition of your nails.

Benefits: Help conceal or fix broken, damaged, short and bad nails. Makes it hard for you to chew your own nails if you have that habit. Great for women with brittle and weak nails.

Hopefully this has clarified a few things and will assist us when making our appointments :-)
